Sodastream Fresh and Fresh Plus: A Sleeker Way to Fizz at Home
SHOPPING & GIFT GUIDESTRENDING BRANDS
A much-loved British name returns to the kitchen counter with two slim, cordless machines that put you in charge of every glass of fizz.
If you grew up in the eighties, there is a good chance a certain television jingle once told you to "get busy with the fizzy". That advert first aired in 1980, and close to fifty years later Sodastream is introducing itself to a new generation of households with the Sodastream Fresh and Sodastream Fresh Plus. Together they mark a quieter, more design-conscious chapter for the brand, built around the simple pleasure of making sparkling drinks at home, just as you like them and whenever the mood strikes.
An old favourite, thoughtfully updated
Sodastream's story began in the UK in the 1900s, and the brand has been a fixture in family kitchens for generations since. Now part of PepsiCo, it is giving its machines, flavours and bottles a thorough modern refresh.
The thinking behind it is easy to relate to. So much of daily life can now be tailored to personal taste, from the music we stream to the way we shop, yet fizzy drinks have barely moved on in decades. Most still arrive ready-made in weighty packaging, with no real way to adjust them. Sodastream wants to change that by letting you decide how sparkling and how flavoursome each drink should be, turning ordinary tap water into something fresh and fizzy in a matter of seconds.
Made for busy kitchens
Both machines have been shaped with modern homes and full family schedules in mind. They are slender and entirely cordless, so there is no need to find a spare socket, and they sit neatly on the worktop without dominating it.
Day-to-day use has been kept refreshingly simple. An easy click system means the bottle slots into place smoothly, while a quick connect mechanism makes changing the CO₂ cylinder a straightforward job rather than a fiddly one.

Fresh or Fresh Plus?
The Sodastream Fresh is the everyday choice. A precise carbonation button lets you fizz to exactly the level you prefer, whether that is a gentle sparkle or something with real bite, and it works with the brand's pink quick connect CO₂ cylinders.
The Sodastream Fresh Plus is aimed at those who want a more elevated feel. It swaps the button for a carbonation lever and comes in premium metal finishes, giving it a little more presence on the counter. Its most practical addition is a built-in CO₂ level indicator, which tells you when the cylinder is running low so you are never caught out mid-pour.
A drink for every moment
Thanks to its place within the PepsiCo family, Sodastream offers more than 20 well-known flavours to use with either machine. Familiar names such as Pepsi MAX, 7UP Zero Sugar, Mirinda Zero Sugar and Lipton peach iced tea sit alongside fruitier options like Pink Grapefruit and Passionfruit. Picture a cola with Friday supper, an iced tea on a lazy afternoon, or a jug of freshly sparkling water on the table when friends come round.
There is a lighter footprint to consider too. Like every Sodastream machine, the Fresh and Fresh Plus are designed to cut down on single-use plastic, with reusable bottles taking the place of a cupboard full of shop-bought ones.
Ready from the moment you unbox it
Each starter kit includes a 1 litre Sodastream Fresh carbonating bottle and a quick connect CO₂ cylinder, which makes up to 60 litres of sparkling drinks depending on how fizzy you like them and which machine you use. In other words, you can start experimenting straight away.
When a cylinder runs empty, topping up is easy. You can send it back by post through Sodastream's own exchange service, or swap it in store at retailers across the UK, including Sainsbury's, Currys and The Range.
Where to find them
The Sodastream Fresh and Fresh Plus are available now from sodastream.co.uk, Amazon and TikTok Shop, in a choice of Starter, Extra and Mega bundles. From October 2026, you will also find them in Currys stores.
