The Palace of Holyroodhouse has officially reopened its doors to the public following Royal Week, and this summer, visitors to the monarch’s official Scottish residence are in for a truly historic experience.

From Saturday 4 July until Thursday 10 September 2026, a magnificent Rolls-Royce Phantom VI Chassis used by Queen Elizabeth II takes pride of place on the Palace forecourt. The public display forms a key part of the national celebrations marking the centenary of the late Queen’s birth.

A Rare Glimpse Into Private Royal Life

The arrival of the iconic vehicle perfectly coincides with an unprecedented opportunity for royal enthusiasts. For the first time ever, the private apartments used by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip during their stays at the Palace are being opened to the public.

This exclusive guided tour is running for a strictly limited 100-day period during 2026, offering an intimate look at the spaces where the royal couple relaxed away from their official duties.
