London-based luxury label HELD Swimwear is built on a simple but long-overdue idea: support should never come at the expense of style.

For years, women have been asked to choose between the two. Swimwear that looks beautiful often fails to provide the support many bodies need, while technical swimwear can feel overly engineered, restrictive, or unflattering. HELD was created to remove that compromise entirely.

Designed for women with a larger cup size from D and above, HELD offers luxurious swimwear that combines lingerie-level structure with clean, minimalist silhouettes that celebrate the female form.

A Brand Born From Real Frustration

HELD was conceived by founder Jo Davis, a former member of the Buying and Merchandising team at Topshop, who spent years understanding how women shop, wear, and experience fashion at scale.

Despite working in the industry, Davis faced the same frustration as many women: swimwear rarely fit both body and bust in a balanced way. Options felt split between beauty without function or support without design appeal.

The breakthrough came unexpectedly during a holiday in 2024. After layering her favourite bra beneath a swimsuit, she noticed an immediate transformation. The fit improved, the silhouette became more refined, and the concept behind HELD began to take shape.

That moment revealed a simple insight. If lingerie can provide precise structural support, swimwear should be built on the same foundation.

Designing Swimwear From the Inside Out

HELD was created to solve a structural problem in fashion. Bodies are not uniform, and bust proportions rarely align with standard dress sizing. Rather than forcing women to compromise, HELD builds support into the system itself.

The brand’s innovation lies in its modular approach. Bras are sold separately from swimsuits, allowing women to choose their exact cup and back size. Each bra is designed with lingerie-level engineering to lift, shape, and hold, then worn beneath the swimsuit to create a seamless silhouette.

As Jo Davis explains, the goal was to create elegant swimwear supported from the inside out. When the structure is correct, confidence follows.

A Capsule Collection Built on Precision

HELD offers a focused capsule range of bras and swimsuits, each crafted using premium technical fabrics sourced from Portugal and Italy. The aesthetic is deliberately minimal, with a palette of black, cream, and petrol blue designed to flatter a wide range of skin tones and body shapes.

Attention to detail defines the collection. Gold hardware accents the straps, while discreet cut-outs and strategic ruching are used to enhance natural curves rather than disguise them. The result is swimwear that feels refined, sculptural, and effortless.

Every piece is engineered to move comfortably in water while maintaining structure on land, bridging the gap between swimwear and ready-to-wear design.

Support Without Compromise

At its core, HELD challenges a long-standing gap in the swimwear market. Women with larger busts have often been left navigating between aesthetics and functionality, rarely finding both in one garment.

HELD rejects that limitation. Its design philosophy combines lingerie construction with modern swimwear silhouettes, offering garments that fit properly, support fully, and flatter naturally.

The result is a new category of swimwear that feels considered rather than corrective, empowering rather than restrictive.
