Medieval Magic Returns to Stonor Park This Autumn

Following a packed spring debut, medieval pageantry is set to take over Stonor Park once again as its popular jousting and falconry showcase returns this autumn.

The historic estate, positioned right on the border of Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, will host the Knights of Royal England on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th September. Spectators can expect an action-packed weekend of live-action entertainment set against the backdrop of Stonor’s sweeping parkland.

The main arena will feature high-stakes jousting tournaments with armored knights charging at full speed, demonstrating remarkable skill, precision, and horsemanship as they clash lances.

Louisa Fifield, general manager at Stonor Park, noted that the event offers an immersive step back in time for visitors of all ages, bringing history to life through the thunder of hooves, vibrant heraldic colours, and dramatic swordplay. She highlighted that the interactive nature of the display makes it an ideal autumn day out for families looking for something special after settling back into the school term.

In addition to the main jousting spectacle, the schedule includes airborne falconry demonstrations. Visitors will watch birds of prey navigate the skies above the estate while learning about the long history of falconry. Guests can also try their hand at period activities, with archery and axe-throwing available on site for a small extra fee.

Entry tickets offer broad access across the estate, including admission to Stonor’s popular woodland adventure playground, Tumblestone Hollow. The play area features high-level walkways, climbing ropes, zip wires, slides, and a dedicated section for toddlers with water-play elements.

Ticket holders can also explore Stonor’s formal gardens as the autumn foliage begins to turn, or tour the historic interior of Stonor House, which opens its doors to visitors during the afternoon.

A wide selection of food and drink will be available throughout the weekend, featuring local street food vendors serving wood-fired pizzas, gourmet burgers, and barbecued dishes, alongside a pop-up bar and fresh gelato.

Early bird tickets are currently available for a short period. Family packages start at £35 for three people, £45 for four, and £55 for five. Individual early bird adult passes are priced at £11.60. Standard child tickets are £13.45 for ages 3 to 4, £15.50 for children aged five and over, and free for toddlers aged two and under. Parking on site is free of charge.
