Keeping The Dry January Feeling Going
BEAUTY, WELLBEING & PARENTHOODSHOPPING & GIFT GUIDES

As the final days of January slip by, many of us are quietly congratulating ourselves. Whether you signed up to Dry January with serious intent or simply found yourself drinking less after the festive rush, the month has brought clearer mornings, calmer evenings and a gentle sense of reset. The question now is what happens next.
For a growing number of people, the end of January no longer signals a rush back to old habits. Instead, it marks the beginning of a more mindful relationship with alcohol. With Valentine’s Day, dinners out and long winter weekends still ahead, the challenge is finding drinks that feel celebratory without undoing a month of good intentions.
The good news is that the no and low alcohol world has never looked more appealing. Gone are the days of flat tonic and apologetic soft drinks. Today’s mocktails borrow the theatre and flavour of classic cocktails, offering layers of citrus, spice and botanicals that feel grown up, indulgent and entirely intentional.
SodaStream is tapping into this shift with a collection of sophisticated sober serves designed for people who want to keep the Dry January feeling going well into the year.
For anyone ready to experiment at home, these drinks are designed to be simple, stylish and easy to recreate. Below, you can add three alcohol free cocktail recipes that bring bar quality flavour to your own kitchen. Each one is light on effort but rich in citrus, spice and botanicals, perfect for extending your Dry January streak into February and beyond. Built around sparkling mixers and alcohol free spirits, these drinks prove that cutting back does not have to mean missing out.
Take the Winter Cobbler, a tall, fragrant blend that brings warmth and brightness in equal measure. Sparkling ginger ale provides a lively kick, lifted with an alcohol free botanical spirit and a dash of Botivo for herbal depth. Finished with a wheel of orange and a sprig of rosemary, it looks every inch the cocktail bar creation, but leaves you clear headed and ready for the next day.
If you are craving something fresher, the Mountain Paloma offers a pink, citrus forward alternative to the bar favourite currently dominating menus. Ruby red grapefruit juice meets Everleaf Mountain and cloudy lemonade, with the option of a chilli salt rim or a few drops of Tabasco for those who like a little fire. It is bright, fashionable and surprisingly satisfying, without a measure of tequila in sight.
And for evenings that still call for energy and sparkle, Cloud Nine delivers a gentle lift without the booze. Three Spirit Livener brings a blend of energising botanicals, paired with elderflower cordial and crisp sparkling water. Light, zesty and quietly uplifting, it is the sort of drink that suits a dinner party, a midweek wind down or even a Friday night that does not end in regrets.
Winter Cobbler
A lively, aromatic wintery cobbler that’s all about that glorious ginger kick. SodaStream Ginger Ale brings the sparkle and the spice, lifting your botanical spirit of choice, and giving the whole thing a proper bit of swagger. A touch of Botivo adds depth and a whisper of herbs, making it feel like you’ve put far more effort in than you actually have. Built tall over ice, it’s bright, fragrant and ridiculously drinkable. Buy Botivo in Majestic, Ocado, Waitrose or joinclubsoda.com, and Rebels 0.0 at joinclubsoda.com. .

● Use the measuring cap on the Sodastream Ginger Ale syrup bottle to pour the concentrate to the marked middle line (for standard mix) or a lower line (for lighter taste)

Mountain Paloma
Grab a carton of ruby red grapefruit juice from the supermarket (no bits, unless you enjoy chewing your cocktails), add your Everleaf Mountain. To give this a bit of tartness we use the SodaStream Cloudy Lemonade. It’s fresh, it’s pink, it’s fabulous - and frankly, the Paloma is the cocktail of the moment, turning up in all the chi-chi bars. Make one at home and you’ll feel like you should be wearing sunglasses indoors. Fancy a bit more of a kick - you can make this into a spicy paloma with a couple of drops of tabasco and a spicy salt rim. Buy Everleaf Mountain in Majestic, Ocado or joinclubsoda.com.

● 45ml Everleaf Mountain
● 40ml Grapefruit juice (no bits)

● Garnish with a dried grapefruit wheel
Cloud Nine
A proper party-starter, this one. Light, zesty and full of natural pep, thanks to Three Spirit Livener and its little line-up of energising botanicals - think guayusa, schisandra and green tea for that lively lift without going anywhere near the booze. What all of these drinks share is a sense of occasion. They are not about deprivation or discipline, but about choice. They recognise that many of us want the ritual of mixing, pouring and garnishing, without the heaviness that alcohol can bring.
As January turns into February, the temptation to abandon healthy habits can be strong. But continuing even a few alcohol free days a week can make a lasting difference, from better sleep and clearer skin to more focused mornings and lighter moods. For some, it becomes less about a month long challenge and more about a permanent rebalancing.
So whether you are extending Dry January, trying a damp February or simply curious about what else is out there, now is the perfect moment to experiment. Stock the fridge with fresh citrus, explore the new generation of botanical spirits and let sparkling water do the rest.
Because sometimes the best way to celebrate a fresh start is not with another drink, but with a better one.
