From First Night to Big-Bed Days: Sleepwear That Grows With Your Child
TRENDING BRANDSSPOTLIGHT STORIESSHOPPING & GIFT GUIDES

What a baby wears to bed changes far more often than most new parents expect, from the snug swaddle of the earliest weeks to something that lets a busy toddler potter about before lights out. Sleep specialist Snüz has added two new pieces to its sleepwear collection this autumn, a three-in-one swaddle bag and a walkable toddler sleepsuit, giving families one range that can see them through from the very first night until their little one is ready for a duvet.
One range for every stage
Many parents will already know Snüz for its SnüzPod bedside crib, and the brand has been focused on infant sleep since 2013. The new SnüzSwaddle and SnüzSuit join its existing SnüzPouch sleeping bag, so there are now three options covering the newborn months right through to toddlerhood. The swaddle and the suit share the same four designs, Sand Cloud, Blush Dot, Cashmere Cross and Sage Cross, and the SnüzPouch comes in colours that sit nicely alongside them, which makes it easy to keep the nursery looking coordinated as babies move from one stage to the next.

Suitable from birth, the SnüzSwaddle comes in two sizes, one for newborns up to three months and one for babies from three to six months, so the fit stays snug as they grow. Its biggest selling point for tired parents is flexibility. It can be worn fully swaddled with arms tucked inside, or with arms out and the sleeves either on or off, and because the sleeves simply detach, it is easy to switch between them depending on how baby seems to settle best.
The bag is made from soft cotton with a little built-in stretch, and Snüz has designed the swaddled feel to echo the comfort of the womb and calm the startle reflex, while still leaving room at the hips and legs for natural movement. The nappy change zip, borrowed from the SnüzPouch, means night-time changes can happen without unwrapping baby completely. It comes in 1.0 and 2.5 tog, with a tog guide printed on the product itself, and Snüz advises that swaddling should stop once baby shows signs of rolling or can wriggle free.

For toddlers who never seem to stay still, the new SnüzSuit is a sleeping bag with legs, designed as much for moving about during the day as for sleeping comfortably at night. It comes in sizes for one to two and two to three year olds, in either 1.0 or 2.5 tog, and the cotton has a little stretch so it keeps fitting as children grow. It builds on the arrival of the SnüzPouch in toddler sizes last year, giving little ones more independence and the freedom to move at their own pace while keeping them cosy until they are ready for a duvet.
The practical details have clearly been thought through. A central two-way zip makes nappy changes quick, and the arms zip off, so moving between arms in and arms out is simple on warmer nights or for children who prefer their arms free. Fold-over foot socks with grippy soles help prevent slips on the way to bed, and the suit comes in the same four prints as the new swaddle. As with any sleeping bag, it is not meant to be used with a cot duvet or blanket, so choosing the right tog does the job of keeping them warm.
Completing the collection, the award-winning SnüzPouch sleeping bag remains a firm favourite with parents, and now comes in sizes from birth to six months, six to eighteen months and eighteen to thirty-six months, taking babies all the way from the newborn weeks to the toddler years. It is made from soft 100% cotton and comes in a choice of togs for different seasons, in colours and prints that match the rest of the sleepwear range, including Sand Cloud, Sage Cross and Blush Dot.
On the two smaller sizes, the patented nappy change zip keeps night-time changes quick and less disruptive for baby, while the largest size switches to a two-way side zip as children grow. Adjustable poppers give a comfortable fit across the chest, and double press studs keep each shoulder firmly secured. Each bag comes with clear guidance on how it should be worn, including a handy safety guide, and it has been tested to the BS EN 16781:2018 safety standard for children’s sleeping bags, so parents can feel confident they are using it correctly.
A choice for every family
Every baby settles differently, and few parents find the right sleep routine on the first attempt. By offering three different styles that work together, Snüz gives families the freedom to choose what suits their child at each stage, rather than one approach for everyone.
