London has been noticeably short on planetariums while Greenwich’s Peter Harrison theatre remains closed, but a new immersive experience is about to fill the gap. Planetarium Go! launches at Battersea Power Station at the end of January, bringing space exploration to families through a 360-degree dome screen.

Inside the pop-up, audiences are surrounded by stars, planets and galaxies, creating a sense of scale and wonder that is hard to replicate on a flat screen. The programme includes shows tailored to different age groups, from gentle introductions led by animated hamster scientists to more awe-inspiring journeys through the cosmos.

The format makes complex ideas accessible, encouraging curiosity without overwhelming younger viewers. It is designed as a shared experience, where parents and children can learn together, ask questions and simply enjoy the feeling of being transported far beyond London.

Planetarium Go! runs from 30 January to 1 March, with tickets priced at £15 and under-4s going free. With limited dates and broad appeal, it is likely to become a popular choice for weekend plans and school holiday visits.
